La Vie – A circus beyond this world

(Featuring Les 7 doigts de la main)

La Vie is about insanity, sorrow, bad behaviour, pain, airplane accidents and romantic love gone terribly wrong – but it’s funny, joyful, and very sexy. La Vie takes place in a purgatory of the imagination, where the sinners try to tumble, juggle, climb, fly, sing or joke their way out of hell. A diabolical master of ceremonies presides over this twisted Judgement Day, and not even the audience is safe as he weighs their souls in his unforgiving hands. It is 90 minutes of the unexpected, the hysterical and the surprisingly moving.

WARNING: Late-night show. Decadent humour. Incredibly Sexy. Be advised!

Showtime: 8:15PM (Thursday – Saturday)
Price: Adult tickets starting at $33

Sideshow – Alive on the Inside

Carnivàle Lune Bleue transcends the original Side Show concept and takes it to the next level with Alive on the Inside, a provocative, audacious and all-together radical show. A cast of outlandish characters, including a sword swallower, human pincushion, and contortionist, comes together on stage, performing their fascinating feats to the haunting beat of Montreal’s The Unsettlers. Evoking the lost traditions of the carnivals, this extreme physical theatre reinvents the sideshow and propels it into the 21st century. Sixty minutes of pure voyeurism, but who’s watching whom….?

WARNING: This show contains scenes that may be disturbing for some viewers.

Behind The Scenes

Overview

2010 marks the third year of performances for Carnivàle Lune Bleue after critically acclaimed appearances in the Ottawa area in 2008 and 2009.

Inspired by the magic, mysticism, mystery and captivating allure of travelling carnivals from the 1930′s, Carnivàle Lune Bleue is an all-senses escape to another time and place.

Step beyond the brightly-lit front gate of Carnivàle Lune Bleue and become immediately immersed and entirely engrossed in a colourful, gritty, authentic, surreal and frequently bizarre all-evening entertainment extravaganza.

Shimmering lights illuminate a movie-like setting and lead the way through a magical night time journey that promenades through a vintage midway with vintage rides, tempting skill-testing games, remarkable reptiles, a museum of monstrosities, curiousities and myths and, so much more.

Sights, sounds and sensual aromas abound. Performance artists with spectacular, scary and seductive talents await to astound audiences with amazing shows. Culinary creations that pay homage to the cuisine of a bygone carnival era are served up to tantalize taste buds.

From Dreams To Reality

Carnivàle Lune Bleue is a dream come true for one man with an exciting vision, for all the behind-the-scenes folks who helped with its creation, and for the thousands who experienced the magic and mysticism first hand.

Before it made its debut in 2008 Carnivàle Lune Bleue was painstakingly planned, researched and prepared over several years, from conception to reality. Visionary and Founder, Wayne Van De Graaff, is a carnival enthusiast who has, for many years, been fascinated with the dream of reviving an authentic old-style carnival. With Carnivàle Lune Bleue, his dream has become a reality.
